STD-092 — Update of ED-57 - EUROCAE MOPS for DME Transponder

ED-57 was initially issued in 1986 and ammended in 1992. Due to the technological evolution, the systems that have been produced and deployed in the last decade achieve better performace than that required by this standard. This performance can support more demanding navigation applications e.g. RNP1 reversion (in case of GNSS outages). In order to formally recognize this performance level, the standard must be brought up to date. This update is one of the key elements to enable the implementation of RNP 1 procedures in TMAs.
