Enhanced Terminal Area for efficient curved operations refers to curved segments for departures and approaches as close to the runway as possible to optimise procedures in terms of fuel consumption, noise abatement and environmental constraints. Using geometric vertical navigation guidance in the TMA approach phase will remove the workload associated to barometric to geometric vertical navigation transition.
