DCB-0201 — Interactive Network Capacity Planning

Up-to-date and comprehensive capacity data and information from ANSPs and airports is available. The process offers an interactive support to stakeholders in the development of medium-term plans. Capacity planning information, data and tools are available on-line. Latent capacity is used to relieve bottlenecks through consolidated capacity planning process based on coordination and network synchronisation of ANSPs/airports enabling the adaptation of the capacity delivery where and when required.

Rationale
The Interactive Network Capacity Planning process reflects the cooperative approach indicated in the DMEAN Concept of Operations to improve the ATM network performance year on year. This OI Step is already implemented and is run through the capacity planning and airspace design processes supported by appropriate data and tools (NEVAC, SAAM, DDR). Further developments of a more interactive process are foreseen through the evolution of the existing tools; this evolution is closely coordinated with all ANSPs through the CAPLAN group.
