HUM-002 — Human factors flight crews - Interval Management

The flight crew is fully aware when temporary delegation of spacing responsibility is assigned to them and is clearly informed of the type of delegation (spacing task; controller remains responsible for separation provision). Adequate HMI solutions are designed to assist the flight crew. The implementation of spacing tasks is supported by suitable tools to execute the IM manoeuvre and to maintain flight crew task load within acceptable limits. To enable safe operation the diversity and complexity of IM operations is addressed in appropriate training and supported by operational documentation.
